The Cabot School District is proud to announce the hiring of Scott Reed, replacing Mike Malham as the Cabot Panthers Head Football Coach.

Reed comes to Cabot from the El Dorado School District where he served as the head football coach. Prior to that, he was head football coach for Forrest City High School. He also spent three years as assistant football coach for Stephen F. Austin University.

During his 12 seasons at El Dorado, he achieved numerous accomplishments including four 6A State Championship titles (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013), 6A State Runner-Up (2008), 6A State Semi-Finals (2012, 2014), and countless playoff appearances. Reed averages nine wins per season and holds the school record for the most wins (106) as head coach at El Dorado High School. Some of Reed’s other accolades include: Lowell Manning Award for Outstanding High School Coach in AR (2011), 6A Coach of the Year (2009, 2011), Hooten’s 6A/7A Coach of the Year (2010), 6A South Conference Coach of the Year (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013), and Union County NAACP Man-of-the-Year (2010).

As a walk-on for the Razorbacks in 1980, Reed played quarterback for four years under Head Coach Lou Holtz at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. From 1984-1987, he served as a student assistant under Ken Hatfield. Reed graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1979. He is married and has two grown sons.
